K'3 / K'Save

Could I connect my USB key to any Android devices?

All smartphones and tablets with microUSB and OTG function (On The Go, automatically activated) are compatible, but this is rarely clear in the product specification. Ccontact the Android device’s manufacturer, check forums, or our OTG list.

Why can I not see my USB key on the smartphone/tablet?

First, the LED should be turned on, otherwise it means your mobile device is not compatible. You must use an App such as “File Explorer” to explore the content under “USB storage.” Try several Apps, because not all of them work; we advise Astro and Nexus Media Importer. Try as well to turn on and off your mobile device, and eject properly the key (on the notification menu at the top).

Why can none of the App’s access to the content of my USB key?

The K’3 works with App’s such as Nexus Media Importer or Astro. If none of the App’s work, try to turn on and off your mobile device. If it still does not work, check forums and try to root it.

Why are some videos unreadable?

Some formats like AVI or MKV are hard to read. Try App’s like BS Player, MXplayer, Oplayer, etc.

Why can I not save photos from my mobile device in the key?

With Nexus Media Importer, you have the option to import, export or use the advanced menu in the App when the device is turned on. Sometimes, the Android device only allows the read-only mode, which prevents any copy to the key. Try to turn on and off your Android device (see our compatibility list or the useful links above).

What Apps may I use?

We recommend several App’s, such as Nexus Media Importer, Astro, ES, OTG Disk Explorer, Total Commander (do +: plugin USB key), Stickmount, USB OTG helper.

How can I secure my data on the K’3?

To secure your datas in the K'3, try free softwares to encrypt your datas.

For K'Save : instead of 30min, how much does the 1H30 battery cost?

You can upgrade the battery life to 1H30 here: it costs 9€. This upgrade concerns only our backers on Indiegogo. If you purchase the K'Save on our website, the battery life will be 1h30.

I haven’t received my K'Save. Why and what is the status of my order?

The delivery of the K'Save is expected in May 2016. Please contact us for any questions: contactcf@pkparis.com

K'1

Why is the speed of my K’1 not 140 MB/s?

140 MB/s corresponds to the computer’s maximum reading speed with a USB plug. If your computer is equipped with USB 2.0 or if you copy a file to your USB storage device, the speed will be lower.

May I configure the K’1 as a local disk?

Yes, it's possible to configure the K’1 as a local disk.

May I erase the executable files on my K’1?

You may erase the executable files on your K’1 as you wish, but you will lose the desktop icon in Windows.

May I reformat my K’1 in extended Mac OS?

It is possible for reformat your K’1 in extended Mac OS. Be sure to save the files (in the hidden mode) to preserve the desktop icon.

Why is the speed of my K’1 slower than 140/20 MB/s?

Please try to remove the string and plug it again. It appears on some computer like Macbook Pro that the string prevents the USB 3.0 pin from touching correctly the connector; thus, only the USB 2.0 is active. We will update the K’1 design to solve this problem.

How can I secure my data in the K’1?

To secure your datas in the K’1, try free softwares to encrypt your datas.

K'lip

Will the K'lip key work in my computer with older USB 2.0 ports ?

Yes, the K'lip will work in a computer with either USB 2.0 or USB 3.0 ports. 

Why is the speed of my K'lip drive less than 140 MB/s ?

The maximum read speed from a USB 3.0 port is 140 MB/s. If your computer has USB 2.0 ports, the maximum read speed you will get will be less than 140 MB/s.

What weight can my key support ?

The body of the K'lip can resist up to 200 kg (about 440 lbs) for 1 minute.

K'asq

Assembling

How to change the color ring or changing earplug?

There is marking on each piece of the headset:
R : for the earphone on the right.
L : for the earphone on the left.

Locate L / R on each piece:
On the housing, L is close to the electrical contact pads.
On the ring, L is written inside, near to CE marking.
On the earplug, L is written outside, up the triangle marking.

Put together all the elements with the R marking.

Put together all the elements with the L marking.

Don´t forget when you change earplug!

When you change the earplugs, 2 little arrows help you to place correctly the earplugs.

These arrows have to be aligned.

Otherwise, the wings on the earphones won’t let charging the earphones.

How to change earplugs!

To remove the earplug, pull out them with a little twist.

When you change the earplugs, 2 little arrows help you to place correctly the earplugs:
On the housing, a tiny arrow is at the opposite side of +/- marking, at the root of the acoustic pipe.
On the earplug, the arrow is down the wing and under L marking.

These arrows have to be aligned.

Otherwise, the wings on the earphones won’t let charging the earphones.

Besides, it will bother you when you listen music.

How to change rings colour!

So easy!

You have a set of rings of different colors.

1. First, take off the ring on the earphone (from the side where is the button ► for example).

2. Check the L/R marking inside the ring, and pick a new ring with the same marking.

3. Locate where the 2 buttons on the casing match with the + / - markings on the ring.
The ► on the ring also has to match with the button on the casing.

4. Then, put the new ring on.

5. Be sure the edges of the rings cover the edges of the housing on each side.
You can press with your nail on the edge to insert them better.

Connecting

How to connect the earphones to my smartphone?

1. Press and hold button ► on both earphones until you watch the LED blinking blue/red.
After few seconds, the LED blinks blue, don’t stop, hold it almost 8 seconds, then it blinks red/blue.

2. Then, the earphones wait for being connected to your smartphone

3. Access the Bluetooth Setting of your smartphone / tablet / smartwatch / PC / Mac.
Turn on Bluetooth and select: "PK K'asq".

4. The 2 earphones will eventually be paired with your device.

The next time you turn the K’asq on, pairing will be automatic.

Note:
If, previously, in the settings of your smartphone, you chose the option FORGET "PK K'asq", then you need 2 or 3 tries turning on/off the earphones before pairing is again accepted.

One of the earphones doesn’t function. How to fix it?

1. Switch off Bluetooth on your smartphone.
2. Press and hold button ► PLAY (8 secs) on both earphones until you watch the two LED blinking blue/red.
3. Release the buttons ► Play on both earphones. Wait 10 seconds. One earphone blinks blue, the other blinks red/blue. Then, your earphones are paired with your smartphone.

Note:
How to check pairing is successful?
On one earphone, press and hold button ► PLAY 4 sec, then both earphones turn off (red blink).

On / Off

Switch on the earphones?

1. Switch on the earphones by pressing and holding the button ► on both earphones for 6 seconds.

2. On power-up, the LEDs blink blue 5 times.
Except when waiting to be paired with your device, the LEDs blink red/blue, and when battery charge is low the LEDs blink red every 10 sec.

3. Then, if nothing happens, charge the earphones.

Switch off the earphones?

1. Switch off the earphones by pressing and holding either left or right ► button for 6 secondes.

2. On power-off, Both LEDs blink red 5 times (since the earphones are synchronized, both earphones switch off at the same time).

LED

Blue blink?

The LED blink blue when your earphones are on, it means:
When calling.
When listening music.
But, don’t forget:
On power-up, the LEDs blink blue 5 times.
When waiting to be connected with your smartphone, on the “master” earphone, the LED blinks red and blue.

Red blink?

The LED blinks red when:
Low battery (blink every10 seconds).
But, don’t forget:
On power-off, the LEDs blink red 5 times.
When waiting for connection with your smartphone, on the “master” earphone, the LED blinks red and blue.

Blue and red blink?

When k’asq is waiting to be connected, the “master” earphone blinks blue and red until the earphones are connected to your smartphone / tablet / smartwatch / PC / Mac.
When both earphones are connected, the red-blue blink ends.

LEDs remain blue?

LEDs remain on and blue when your earphones are in stand-by mode, it means:
When no activity
When music is paused.

LEDs remain red?

LEDs remain on and red when your earphones are:
Charging.

Note:
When battery charge is full, the LED blinks red 5 sec, then stops.

Bluetooth

My K’asq is not available on the Bluetooth menu.

When you connect your K’asq for the first time, make sure that your Bluetooth is activated before your K’asq is turned on. If you delete K’asq from your Bluetooth menu by mistake, just do this again.

Audio & noise filtering

What’s about the Audio Quality?

Augmented Accoustics lab rated our earphones: 4/5.

Considering this rate, K’asq belongs to the best earphones on the market for its category.

Their tests show similar curves to those of wired headphones like the Bose QC20, especially.

Passive or active noise reduction?

K'asq has a very effective passive noise-canceling system that reduces noise pollution of the environment by 40%.
This result depends on the earplug size and your ear morphology.

There are sound cuts. Why?

1. It happens sometimes when the earphone battery charge is low. So, check if the LED blinks red.

2. It can happen also sometimes when you block the smartphone's bluetooth (for exemple covering the phone with your hand or putting it in your back poket)

Music

Increase / Decrease the volume?

When listening to music, how to adjust the volume?

You want to increase the volume:
Press on the button + (slowly ≃1s) as many times as needed.
You want to decrease the volume:
Press on the button - (slowly ≃1s) as many times as needed.
If you press on the button too briefly, there will be no result.

Play / Pause / Next?

When listening to music, how to shift from a piece of music to another?

Press on the button ► for:
Play.
Then, pause.
For skipping to the next piece of music:
Press on + for 2 seconds.
For coming back to the previous piece of music:
Press on - for 2 seconds.

Buttons + - ► don’t function well?

Check if the ring is well put:

1. Be sure the markings on the housing and the rings match together.

For example, check if the left ring is on the left housing.

2. Be sure the 3 tiny black buttons on the casing match with the ► + - markings on the ring.

3. Be sure the edges of the rings cover the edges of the housing on each side.

Calling

How to answer to a call?

Press the button ► on the right earphone to answer.
Note : warning, if you answer the call with your phone, it will not be transferred to K'asq.

How to reject a call?

Hold down the button ► on the right earphone for 2 seconds to reject an incoming call.

How to stop a call?

Press the button ► on the right earphone to end an on-going call.

Yes, you are right! Pressing the button ► on the right earphone let you answer to a call and after, it let you end it.

How to manage 2 calls?

Press the button ► on the right earphone to end the on-going call and answer to the incoming call.

Press and hold the button ► on the right earphone for 2 seconds to answer and switch between calls.

How to mute / unmute the microphone?

Hold down the button - on the right earphone for 2 seconds to mute / unmute the microphone.

How to transfer the call to / from the Smartphone?

Hold down the button + on the right earphone for 2 seconds to forward the call to / from the smartphone.

Buttons + - ► doesn’t function well?

Check if the ring is well put:

1. Be sure the markings on the housing and the rings match together.

For example, check if the left ring is on the left housing.

2. Be sure the 3 tiny black buttons on the casing match with the ► + - markings on the ring.

3. Be sure the edges of the rings cover the edges of the housing on each side.

The caller can’t hear me correctly.

Be sure the microphone hole of the “master” earphone is directed toward your mouth, not in the opposite direction.

Battery / Save power

How long does it last to charge the earphones?

Around 1 hour 45 minutes for having the batteries fully charged.

How long can I listen music or call without charging?

5 hours!

You can listen to music or make calls 5 hours without charging.

8 hours more because of the charge box battery supply.

How long does it take to charge the Charge Box?

Around 2 hours 15 minutes for having the batteries fully charged.

How to check the battery level?

Each earphone is independent.

1. Put one earphone in ear.

2. Press on both buttons +/- at the same time for 6 sec, then a voice tell you the level of charge (low/middle/high).

Note:
If you want to shift language from French to English, press on both buttons +/- on the same time for 8 sec (do it on the both earphones).

Rain, Loss, Fit/Weight

Running in the rain?

The earphones are waterproof IP55 certified.

So enjoy running in the rain with your earphones!

Earphones are waterproof when you wear them in your ear.

IP55 certified?

IP55 certified: what does it mean?

It means your earphones succeeded in the IP55 testing.

IP55 testing is about waterproof.

During more than 3 minutes, water was projected by a nozzle (6.3 mm) against the earphones from any direction with no harmful effects.

I lost my earphones!

PK paris designed a special music to help you to find your earphones.

Play “PK K’asq alert” music (download alert sound on our website).

This music guides you to the earphones.

Ultra light!

Your earphones are ultra light.

Each earphone weighs 9 grams

You will just forget you wear them.

My earphones do not hold my ear firmly.

Use the earplug size that fits your ear.

To remove the earplug, pull them out with a little twist.

Properly insert the wing of the earphone in your ear (press on it with your finger).

Charge Box

How to use the Charge Box?

There are 3 white LEDS on the box back.

USB cable is on the front of the box, so you can plug the box to your computer or an USB charger.

First case, you plug the box and the box is empty, so you charge the box battery:
The 3 white LED are lit one by one showing the level the level of charge (by third).
It lasts around 2 hours 15 minutes for having the batteries fully charged.

Second case, the earphones are inside the box, so you charge the earphones batteries:
The 3 white LED are lit one by in loop.
It lasts around 1 hour 45 minutes for having the batteries fully charged.

How long time do I need for charging box or earphones?

Around 2 hours 15 minutes, if you plug the box and the box is empty, so you charge the box battery (the 3 white LED are lit one by one showing the level the level of charge by third).

Around 1 hour 45 minutes, if the earphones are inside the box, so you charge the earphones batteries (the 3 white LED are lit one by in loop).

If you plug the box to an USB charger, it lasts twice longer for charging the earphones.

How to be sure charging earphones is going well?

Read the explanations on the flyer (inside the Box):

1. Put the Right earphone in the R dimple inside the box:
The earplug look toward the bottom of the box.
The pins on the box touch the electrical contact pad on the earphones.

2. Push the earphone with your finger by on the edge close to the button - , then the LED lights red, so you know the earphone is in the correct position.

3. Do the same with Left earphone.

4. Close the box.

5. On the Box back, the 3 white LED are lit one by in loop and let you know charging earphones has already started.

Note:
When LED remains lit, it means the earphone batteries are already full charged.

Note:
Press on both buttons +/- on the same time for 6 sec, then a voice tell you the level of charge (low/middle/high).

How to know the level of charge?

Put one earphone in its dimple inside the box.

When the earphone led lights, remove the earphone.

Then, look the LED status on the box back side.

1 LED blinks = charge level < 30%
2 LEDs: one remains lit, one blinks = charge level between 30% and 70%.
3 LEDs: two remains lit, one blinks = charge level between 70% and 99%.
3 LEDs remain lit: 100%, full charged.

Thanks for the Charge box, more time. But how long time ?

The charge box give you around 8 hours more of autonomy.

However, It is better to charge the box batteries, every time after using the box, in order to avoid the batteries get empty and also to extend their life.

How to change the language of the voce messages?

If you want to shift language from French to English or from English to French, press on both buttons + / - at the same time for 8 sec (do it on the both earphones).

K'ablekey

How to secure my K’ablekey ?

The K’ablekey has two parts : public part and private part. It is possible to set a password for this private part in the « settings » menu.

Is it possible to move a file from the K’ablekey to the iPhone Library?

No, the files are only visible from the app PKmemory (Apple restriction).

Is it possible to charge my Phone with the K’ablekey with a sector adaptator?

Yes, the K’ablekey is a classic charge cable. You can charge your phone from a computer (USB port) or an electric outlet.

May I connect my K’ablekey with an Android device?

No, the K’ablekey is a product developed exclusively for iDevices that present a Lightning port (iPhone, iPad, iPod, etc…).

The transfer speed announced isn’t 120mb/s.

120 Mb/s corresponds to the optimal speed with a computer provided with a USB 3.0 port in lecture. If your computer is provided with a USB 2.0, the speed announced will be slower.

Which device will my K’ablekey work with?

With every iDevice with iOS 8 or over.

My phone can’t recognize my K’ablekey?

Please try to unplug your K’ablekey, and quit PKmemory app. Then connect your K’ablekey again and relaunch the app.
Be sure that your K’ablekey isn’t connect to your laptop or a electric outlet. Indeed, it is not possible to charge and to use the app at the same time.

PKmemory

I can’t find the files I just copied on my Phone ?

The copied or moved files are in shared folder, in the concerned section (photos, videos, musics or docs).

I can’t play some files ?

I can’t switch the partition (go on the product partition or on my phone) ?

Unplug your PKparis product, then reconnect it to your device. Now launch the app.

How do I change the password ?

You have to go on the private part, then product partition (and not Phone partition). Now go in « Settings », click on « password », change the password.

I can’t find PK memory on my iPad?

You must have selected in your research « only for iPad », therefore you need to choose « for iPhone » and then you’ll find Pk memory.

I forgot my password.

Pkparis is committed to protect your privacy, therefore we do not collect any of your data. However, in case you have forgotten your password, it is possible to reset your initial password (the one you’ve set before as a reset password in settings). Simply go in « settings » (on the public part), then « password », and click on reset.

If someone takes my K’ablekey and plugs it into a computer, will he be able to access my private content ?

When you plug your K’ablekey into a computer, the private content is hidden and not available.

What if I delete the app?

Carefull, if you delete the app, all the files in « shared » folder will be lost.

I can’t find a file when I plug my PKparis product in my computer.

If you have copied this file from the private part, you won’t be able to find it on your computer. Please copy it from the public part.

I can’t find the playlist.

After being created, a playlist is set in « shared » folder, « docs ».

I can’t add a file in a playlist.

It is only possible to add a file in the last playlist you created.

I want to sort the file from A to Z.

You just have to click on the « sort » icon when in a folder, and then click « by name ».

I have another problem that isn’t in this FAQ ?

First, please look at the tutorial (in « settings » menu). If this tutorial doesn’t answer your question, then contact us.

What is a RMA number?

The RMA number is an assigned number for a defected product from our customer service. This number is crucial for our team to recognize the product. Contact us by email and describe your problem: support@pkparis.com

Are the return costs charged to the customer?

Return costs remain the responsibility of the customer.

Should I return my defective product through registered letter/parcel?

We advise you to send back your defected product in registered letter/parcel.

Is it possible to retrieve the data in my damaged USB key?

It is very difficult to retrieve the data on a damaged key, thus rarely conclusive.

Should I return my K’2 with its SD card?

You have to return the K’2 with its SD card because the probleme might come from it.

Should I test my USB key on another device before returning to customer service?

We advise to test your key on another device before returning it.

Do you have a telephone number?

Our customer service is exclusively available by email, in English and French.

Is it normal that the capacity of my USB key is below the initially notified? Why?

This is normal. The permanent software integrated into the key (firmware) needs space to work. The space depends on the key capacity, usually 10% of its capacity.

How to submit an idea, a design, a partnership?

I have formatted my PK product. How to set up again the desktop icon?

You can download the desktop icon of your product on its product page, in Doc & Soft tab.

Is it possible to have the complete screenshot of CrystalDiskMark?

CrystalDiskMark is a software available on the internet. It is possible to run tests by yourself. The results depend mainly on the computer you use.

I have formatted my PK product. How to download the Synchronization software PKfile Sync Windows and Mac?

To download the PKfile Sync for Mac and Windows, click here and download the ZIP file. Unzip it and install it on your USB key.
